Tupelo Honey Playlist 12/13/11

As this year winds down I'm still stumbling onto new releases worthy of recognition. There seems to be a run on husband and wife bands, not the least of which is Nashville's Buffalo Clover. It's funny but every song of theirs seems like a cover. It's not, but their music has a familiar feeling to it. Great new disc and I'd be willing to bet they're dynamite live.

Some songs always seem to generate listener calls. Tonight I might have gotten the most calls ever for a song. It was another husband-wife duo, Big Harp. I'm rather surprised but "Out In The Field" really struck a cord.

I hope you got a chance to enjoy the few holiday tunes I threw in. Of note was the Indigo Girls "The Wonder Song," a new favorite and the Australian Paul Kelly's "How To Make Gravy." I don't know why but the later sends me to tears every time I hear it.

Till Next Week
