Tupelo Honey Playlist 7/20/10

It's so hard to tell from first listen where a CD will fall in your musical hierarchy. Often a disc that sounds incredible on first pass will fizzle out on a second or third spin. Other times a disc that seems destined to be discarded will grow on you like ivy taking over a tree.

The CD's from this week that are igniting my ears include John Mellencamp's No Better Than This (I know its hard to believe that Johnny "Cougar" is doing real music, but believe me, just give it a spin), Amy Correia's self made new gem, and local boy David Jacobs-Strain's newest Terraplane Angel. Check back next week, by then I'll probably hate 'em all.

Till Next Week
Ciao

Indeed. I too have the tendency to declare an artist the Next Big Huzzah, only to beat a retreat in weeks to come. I did this with Andy Friedman last year. Still like the album, but woke up the next week doing the musical Walk of Shame. Don't think I've done it this year, though ... have I? Glad to be able to listen online, after a couple weeks absence.
