Tupelo Honey Playlist 3/16/10

I feel like a bad music fan. I've always been lukewarm on Carrie Rodriguez. She's had a few really good tunes but her albums never have done anything for me. Well, I love her new release and therein lies the problem: Its composed of nothing but covers. I appreciate people writing and recording their own songs but, on this album, Rodriguez does such a great job retooling other artist's tunes I think it's impossible not to love.

Also got some fantastic new releases from Peter Karp & Sue Foley, Dana Cooper, and Kasey Anderson - who will be in town Sunday the 28th with my beloved Zoe Muth.

Till Next Week

you're not a bad music fan, you're just always dealing with an avalanche of new releases so it's hard to focus and spend time with albums that didn't (for whatever reason) grab you on first listen. really glad you like the new Carrie Rodriguez album - very cool you played her M.Ward cover "Eye's On The Prize"!
